This is the first time using a hob. The hob heats up so quickly on rapid heat setting, so I set my hob to just 2 and it heats up to 2, then I go up the heat settings until I reach my sweet spot, which is between 4 and 5. Cooks so gently on that setting, steady simmer or steady shallow fry, with no spitting, wonderful. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is what does the symbol "u " stand for, so came here to try and find out. This symbol comes on between 0 and 1 heat setting on the hob, not sure why?
