Resolution
There could be several reasons why your laundry has white/grey marks after a wash:
1. Constant washing at low temperatures (40°C or less) and increasing use of detergents (enzyme-based) can lead to mould and gelatinous dirt build up inside door seals, pipes and drums. This can block hoses, cause odour in the washing machine and can leave deposits on your laundry.
2. Stains on clothing/fabrics can also be caused by a chemical reaction between certain personal care products or household appliances and the detergent. These products could for example be:
- Household bleach
- Face cream
- Shampoo
- Perfumes
- Gel
- Hair dyes/dyes
3. Using too much detergent or softener
To stop this from happening try the following:
1. In the future, prevent your clothing from coming into contact with the below mentioned personal care products
2. Use a pre-wash cycle. The pre-wash cycle must be run without any detergent.
To add a pre wash press the prewash button or the stain/prewash button (if you have this option press twice to get to the prewash option)
3. Make sure you use the right amount of detergent. Use the amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.
4. Regularly carry out a maintenance on your washing machine:
